Followers of this blog will note that I have not blogged for some time.
There are two main reasons for this.
The first is that I have been rather busy in my new role as a head of learning and development for a top tier financial services organisation and with that comes a decision to read and observe to form opinion, direction and strategy.
My key learning from my new role is that one can never truly appreciate the complexity of a system until you assume the role of someone who can shape and mould that system.
The second reason is that I feel there is a significant shift happening in all forms of education (primary, tertiary and corporate) and I am the first to say that I don't know what the shift is as of yet.
However, for me it is important that when I write and reflect and exercise my cathartic rights (if you have read my blog for a while you will understand that it is first and foremost a form of catharsis for me) I feel I am writing about issues and learning that impact me most in the present moment.
I am afforded an opportunity to speak with a very many learned people in the L&D, KM&IM industries and there is genuine movement of thinking, strategy and systems and some of it may be for the better and some may not.
So pardon my infrequency as I continue to read, observe and listen but there is genuinely (for me at least) something rather unique happening and I hope to write about these observations and learning soon.....
